Two main roads lead the visitor from the city of Volos to the mountainous area of ​​Pelio.

To the east and after crossing the villages of Pagasitikos, it goes up to southern Pelion to reach Trikeri.

The same road is bordered by Neochori to head east to Pelion with the last station of Purhi. North-eastern direction from Volos, leads to Hania (1200 meters altitude) and from there it continues to eastern Pelion.

Pelion's train for 76 years, from 1895 to 1971, climbed to Pelion by transporting people and merchandise and contributed decisively to the rapid growth of the area. Its manufacturer was the Italian engineer Evaristo de Chirico, father of the famous painter Giorgio De Chirico.
